Signs Your Cat Is Stressed
Learning how to recognize if your cat is stressed will help you take action and remove them from the situation that may be causing their stress.
• Changes in behavior. Including but not limited to excessive meowing, aggression, increased vocalization, excessive grooming or scratching
• Body language. Subtle body language signals include yawning, blinking, or lip licking. More obvious stress signals include flat ears, a lowered head and/or arched back
• Balding. This can happen from excessive licking associated with stress
• Changes in litter box behavior. If your cat starts eliminating outside of the litter box, it could be a sign that they are feeling stressed.
• Changes in appetite. Stress can lead to a loss of appetite or overeating in some cats
