Equipment For Cats
Purchasing quality equipment for your cat will help keep them safe, comfortable, and set them up for success.
• A reliable collar and ID tag. Include your name, your cat’s name and your contact information
• At least 2 uncovered litter boxes. You should have one litter box, plus an extra, for every cat in your home. The litter should be clumping (unless your cat has previously expressed a different preference) and the litter boxes should be at least one-and-a-half times the length of your cat. Recommendation: Uncovered litter box
• Bowls. A food and water bowl. Recommendation: Cat water fountain
• A high quality cat bed. Choose an option with a removable cover. This will make it easier to clean. Recommendation: FurHaven Orthopedic Bed
• A variety of scratching posts and scratchers. Cats scratch in order to express emotions, mark objects, and keep their paws and nails feeling healthy. Recommendation: Frisco scratching post
• Vertical spaces. Cats have a natural instinct to climb, jump, and perch in high places. In the wild, they use elevated positions to hunt and escape from predators. Providing vertical spaces in your home enables them to mimic this natural behavior and can help satisfy their instincts. Recommendations: Cat tree and wall shelves
• A cardboard box. Cats often seek out confined spaces for security and comfort. A cardboard box can serve as a safe and cozy hideaway where they can relax and feel protected. This can be particularly valuable during stressful situations or when introducing a new cat into your home
