Why have a daily cat care routine

  • Predictability

Cats are creatures of habit and providing a predictable and consistent daily routine helps them feel secure and reduces stress

  • Health Monitoring

A daily routine allows you to observe your cat's behavior, appetite, and overall health. This can help you detect any signs of illness or discomfort early, and then reach out to your vet

  • Bonding

A daily care routine that includes feeding and playtime offers valuable opportunities to bond and interact with your cat, ultimately strengthening your relationship with them

Components of a cat care routine

• Feeding. Your cat should always have fresh water and be fed once or twice per day, at the same time each day.

• Playtime. Try to schedule 3, 15 minute play sessions each day. Play in the evening and early morning when your cat’s most active.

• Litter box. Place your cat's litter boxes in quiet, low-traffic areas that are easily accessible. Scoop the litter box daily and give it a deep clean every two weeks.

• Brushing. Brush your cat a few times a week to help build your bond and keep their coat healthy. Introduce your cat to brushing slowly and give them rewards such as treats and verbal praise throughout the experience.
